Music For Your Weekend

Hello, Bad Kids it’s finally Friday!

The week is coming to an end, which means relaxation, partying and of course some killer music. I know a lot of you might have been too swamped with work and end of semester stresses to take a minute to yourself and have a little SoundCloud sesh, so I did it for you! I’ve put together a list of some tunes that I cannot stop playing this week and I will absolutely be bumping all weekend.

1. Shiba San - OKAY

So as most people know, Coachella was last month and people have yet to stop talking about how amazing it was. I unfortunately could not go, but I was a total internet stalker of everybody I follow that went. I probably saw at least 5 Vines and Instagram videos of this song being played at the festival’s Do Lab stage, as well as a ton of tweets talking about how sick it was. I really can’t stop listening to this funky tech house jam: I blast it in my car, I play it while I do my work, I’m listening to it right now! If you haven’t checked this song out, I strongly advise that you do. It’s one of those songs that you can’t help but dance to no matter where you are.

2. Desire-Jaceo

I’m clearly in a very tech house mood this week (but when am I not?). I came across this tune on Pleasurekraft’s SoundCloud when they released Jaceo’s “Godzirra EP.” I’m pretty in love with this song and after checking out some of his other music, I’ve come to the conclusion that Jaceo is definitely a pretty sick producer. The best way to describe this song is: groovy. This is one of those tracks that you play as loud as you can with your windows down. If you’re in the mood to try out something different, I absolutely suggest you give this song a listen.

3. Idina Menzel-Let It Go (Armin van Buuren Remix)

I may be a huge tech fan, but trance will always have a special place in my heart, especially my #ManCrushEveryday, Armin van Buuren. I went to see the king of trance at Madison Square Garden a few weeks ago on his Armin Only: Intense tour. The day before that mind-blowing show, Armin released this remix of the popular song from Disney’s “Frozen” on his radio show, A State of Trance. He played it live for the first time the night that I saw him and wow does it still give me the chills when I hear it. Disney + Armin = Endless Chelsea Feels.  I was starting to get sick of the original version, but of course my man Armin brought it back to life and gave it the perfect trancey sound.

4. Wappy Flirt - Oliver Heldens

When I came across this song on my SoundCloud feed, all I was thinking was DAMNNN! This tune goes hard in every sense of the word. Technically it is a deep house track, but there’s obviously some techno influences going on there (probably why I love it so much). If this song doesn’t make you want to rage your face off then I don’t really know what to tell you.

5. Goodness Gracious-Ellie Goulding (Vaux & Rivera Remix)

I’m not exactly the biggest house fan there is, but this one of the songs that I can make an exception for. First of all, Ellie Goulding’s voice makes me very happy. Second of all, Ellie Goulding combined with EDM is usually pretty successful. This song puts me in total summer mode. It’s chill and relaxed, but you can still dance to it, which to me is what summer is all about. I’m absolutely putting this song on my beach playlist (yes, I did start putting a beach playlist together already, but can you blame me after a winter like the one we just had!?).

Those are the 5 songs I’m going to be jamming out to all weekend, hopefully I introduced you to some of your new favorite tracks.

What songs are on your weekend playlist?
