Fest Prep: Sets You Can't Miss at Tomorrowland

Hey Kids! Tomorrowland Weekend 1 is coming up very soon and the lineup looks pretty sick. I personally will not be there (unfortunately), but I definitely have an idea of who would be on my must-see list if I were!

If you're lucky enough to attend the Mecca of electronic music festivals, then make sure to check out these sets while the rest of us sit at home watching the live stream, feeling FOMO on FOMO.

*Note: The lineup is basically the same for both weekends so I'm just going to break down Weekend 1 in this post

Eric Prydz
Where: Main Stage
When: 12:00-3:00 PM

Wow, what a way to start off such an amazing weekend with a god like Prydz. If you haven't seen Prydz already, you need to get on that ASAP. He is out of this world. I would absolutely stay for his entire 3 hour set if I were going.

The Chainsmokers
 Dim Mak
When: 3:15-4:15 PM

When you're done getting your mind blow by Prydz, you might want to head over to BK friends, The Chainsmokers! They've really blown up in the past year and it's been fun for us here at Bad Kids to watch them rise to success. Although they will always be best known for their massive mainstream hit #Selfie, these boys have real talent and always bring a fun, interesting, indie-electro set, so check them out!

John Digweed
Where: Carl Cox & Friends
When: 5:00-6:00 PM

It's time for some dirty techno, Kids! Between his set at Electric Zoo 2013 and Electric Daisy Carnival NY 2014, Digweed has proved he knows how to throw down a sick set. The Carl Cox stage is sure to be a good time with a crowd full of tech heads (like me!)

Andrew Rayel
Where: Trance Addict
When: 6:00-7:00 PM

Well first of all, any stage called "Trance Addict" sounds like it's a place I want to be. After hearing Rayel's EDC NY set from this year, I definitely feel like I messed up by only going on Saturday. This was one of the best festival sets I've heard in a long time and you know he'll play an even more amazing set at TL.  His new album, "Find Your Harmony," is full of beautiful trance tracks that give me goosebumps every time I listen.

Break 7:00-8:00 PM

If you've read my other posts about festie schedules, you'll remember that I explained how important it is to take a break or 2. At this point you've been going hard for hours, it's time to take a little rest before you continue raging. Plus, this is one of the most amazing and beautiful festivals in the world! This is your time to explore!

Adam Beyer
Where: Carl Cox & Friends
When: 8:00-9:30 PM

If there is one person that you can't miss on Friday, it's the king himself. I nearly cried when I found out Beyer wasn't going to be at EDC New York this year. I've seen him a few times, but he is just so freaking good. He knows how to work a crowd by going from hard, banging techno, to groovy tech-house.

Flosstradamus or Loco Dice
Where: Mad Decent or Carl Cox & Friends
When: 9:30-10:30 PM

There's a tie for this one, but that's because I am trying to make this apply to all Bad Kids (since a lot of the team loves Floss) and I can't bring myself to direct anyone away from a Loco Dice set. Loco was absolutely amazing at EDC NY this year, his back to back with Cox was out of this world as well. But, the Bad Kids who attended Mysteryland this year loved Flosstradamus' set, so if you're more into that sound then by all means head over to the MD stage.

Armin Van Buuren
Where: Main Stage
When: 11:00 PM-1:00 AM

No better way to end your night than with one of the best artists in the game. I absolutely love Armin and I don't think I would ever miss a set by him if I were at a festival he was playing. I'm still listening to his EDC LV set from this year and don't even get me started on how amazing Armin Only: Intense was in April.

Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano
Where: Main Stage
When: 12:00-3:00 PM

It's time to get right back into it with some funky beats from this house duo. These two will start your day off just right and get you in good spirits for the adventure ahead of you.

Seth Troxler
When: 3:30-5:00 PM

This is one of those sets that you really, really should not miss. Troxler is amazingly talented and knows what he's doing behind the decks. I've seen him spin at Output and it was probably one of the best sets I've ever experienced. He is just so different from everyone else with his funky disco-tech beats.

New World Punx
Where: Main Stage
When: 5:00-6:30 PM

Between Ferry and Markus, NWP is a trance super-duo for sure. Their EDC NY set was unreal this year, these guys know how to bring the energy. You trance warriors better come out to play for this one.

Laidback Luke
Where: Super You & Me
When: 6:30-8:00 PM

This honorary Bad Kid is sure to do it right on his own stage at TL. He is unbelievably talented at mixing and completely down to Earth. I'm sure he'll play a set to remember on that Saturday. Hey, maybe he'll be wearing his BAD Snapback ;)

Where: Ketaloco
When: 8:00-9:30

If you're into that deep, groovy techno sound, you are sure to love Pleasurekraft. This Swedish, tech house duo will definitely keep it funky at TL. They have a unique sound that will keep your head bobbing and your feet moving for that hour and a half.

Break 9:30-11:00 PM

You're basically halfway through your TL experience. You're tired from what you've experienced so far and you have a lot of amazing coming your way. Don't forget to check out festival grounds, who knows when you'll be lucky enough to experience this again? Not to mention, you should make sure you keep filling up on water and maybe get a bite to eat.

Chris Liebing
Where: Kozzmozz
When: 11:30 PM-1:00 AM

One of the best techno DJ's in the game. I'm very jealous of whoever gets to actually go to Tomorrowland and see Liebing and Beyer in the same weekend. Chris Liebing is known for playing the hard shit. This past weekend I saw him at Hyte Park and, as usual, it was incredible. Proceed with caution, Chris Liebing isn't for the weak-hearted.

Cosmic Gate
Where: Legends of Trance
When: 1:00-2:30 PM

Ok seriously, these stage names are awesome. Cosmic Gate is one of my favorite trance artists to see live. Their songs are absolutely classic, such as "Fire Wire," "Be Your Sound," or "Over The Rainbow." You're gonna be tired on Sunday afternoon after the days proceeding, but it will be impossible to just stand there and watch during a CG set.

Markus Schulz
Where: Legends of Trance
When: 2:30-4:30 PM

Last year, Markus played his own stage for 12 hours. This year, he isn't going quite that hard, but he's basically gonna be on the Legends of Trance stage like all day, playing multiple different sets (Not to mention, he played a NWP set the day before...). This guy loves to throw down the sickest trance sets, you can't go to TL on Sunday and not see him, honestly.

Ida Engberg
Richie Hawtin pr. MINUS
When: 4:30-6:00 PM

Oh my god, I absolutely love Ida. She is totally gorgeous, married to tech king Adam Beyer and is amazingly talented at mixing. Her style of minimal techno is all her own. She is definitely the queen of techno.

Green Velvet
Dave Clark Presents
When: 6:30-8:00 PM

One of my absolute favorite guys to see live. I love his music so much and the fact that he does his own vocals live is totally awesome. The first time I've ever heard of Green Velvet was when he played TL last year when I watched him on the live feed. Ever since then I have fallen in love with his groovy style of tech house. He is so different than anyone else I've seen.

Markus Schulz
Legends of Trance
When: 8:00-9:00 PM

Yes, this sicko is still going! He played his first set, went b2b with Cosmic Gate and is now back to playing on his own. I figure that he will have hit the rabbit hole portion of his set by this point and that's something everyone needs to experience.

Break 9:00-10:30 PM

The festival is almost over and it's time to take a rest. Take it all in while you can, the magic is coming to an end soon.

Paul van Dyk
Legends of Trance
When: 10:30 PM-12:00 AM

I can't think of a better artist to wrap up this beautifully magical festival than PvD. This dude will take you on a trance journey like you've never experienced before. He's the kind of trance artist that will bring you to tears, make you stomp your feet as hard as you can and make you sing at the top of your lungs all in one set. Is this stage named after him? Because he is definitely a trance legend.

Well now that I've written this, I'm pretty depressed that I can't make the Eurotrip over to one of the most amazing festivals in the world. TL is officially on my bucket list. Please let me know if you are going, I want to hear all about your plans. I'll be sitting in my room, watching the live stream and totally not crying......

Stay Bad
