BAD Weekend Playlist #006: The Final Countdown to 2015

As we wind down the year of 2014, us Bad Kids are obviously looking to go out with a bang. Over the next couple of weeks, we will be out and about in NYC seeing all kinds of EDM acts such as Cazzette, R3hab, Blasterjaxx, Boys Noize, Armin, Dada Life, Tyler Sherritt, Kaskade, Yellow Claw, Rudimental, Jack U, Dusky, Disclosure and Vicetone. Yes. All of them, because that's just HOW WE DO.

Below are some of the tracks I've been digging lately which will surely be part of my pregame playlists as we move into the new year! As always, everything is reposted on our Soundcloud, so follow us and enjoy:

Dzeko & Torres - 2014 in 10 minutes

What a better way to hear all the music you love from the past year than a 10 minute mini-mix from the one and only Dzeko & Torres. This is a perfect way to recap the best tracks of 2014 and get your night started!

Ashley Wallbridge - #MarqueeMiniMix

We fell in love with Ashley Wallbridge when we met him while eating at Lavo before his show.  Andi, in typical Andi fashion, decided to help herself to his food, and literally finish his meal. He put together this little minimix for Marquee and it's a great, uplifting 30 minute set with a ton of awesome tracks.

Jack U - Take U There (feat. Kiesza) [TJR Remix]

This song was pretty awesome to begin with, and now it seems like everyone and their mother is coming out with their own remix, most of which are pretty impressive. TJR is one of my favs.

Jack U - Take U There (feat. Kiesza) [Zeds Dead Remix]

As promised, another remix of Take U There, this one from Zeds Dead. A bunch of our BKC crew was at Webster Hall for the Zeds Dead show a few weeks ago, and said it was arguably one of the best shows they'd seen all year. I unfortunately wasn’t there, but if the set was anything like this remix, I’m sure I would have been losing my mind.

Oliver & Jimi Jules - Pushing On (Tchami Remix)

This song is amazing to begin with, and anything Tchami touches these days is fucking fire. Nuff said.

Cazzette - Sleepless (Hotel Garuda & Thero Remix)

Sleepless is one of my favorite tracks of the year. This remix from our friends Hotel Garuda is amazing. Bringing a little tropical house and even some horns into the mix, they did a great job complimenting what is already a fantastic original EDM song.

Netsky vs. Metrik - ‘Cant Speak’ feat Stealth

Ian texted me last week “OMG have you heard the new Netsky?!?! It’s like… uplifting drum and bass!” Which is actually a pretty accurate way of describing this new track. Not sure exactly what it is, but take a listen. Very dope.

GRiZ - A Fine Way to Die feat Orlando Napier

I love GRiZ’s music. Both he and Gramatik (and when they play together as Grizmatik) have such a unique sound. Groovy is really the only way to describe it. Similar to Big Gigantic, it's almost Jazz-infused EDM… or EDM-infused Jazz? Whatever it is, it's great change from the big room bangers that we hear every day.

Get Free/Cinema VIP - Jack U

Get Free by Major Lazer… classic EDM track. Cinema by Skrillex… classic EDM track. Put them together in an exclusive Jack U “original” and you've got yourself a winner.

Cazzette - Blind Heart (Prince Fox Remix)

Prince Fox has been BLOWING UP lately, and with remixes like this, it's really no surprise at all. Another great remix that does the original justice, and maybe even improves it a bit. We know Prince Fox and have seen his career begin to pick up speed in the recent months.  Can't wait to see what's in store for him in 2015!

Don Diablo - Generations

I think Andi listened to this song about 648147345 times over the past week. She is obsessed, and rightfully so. Don Diablo is one of my favorite producers out there at the moment. Not to mention his sets are incredible. I still haven’t seen one of his live sets, but it’s on my to do list for 2015.

Galantis - Runaway (U&I) (Dillon Francis Remix)

I know I know, this has been on my weekend playlist in the past, but Galantis/Dillon Francis finally released the real, high quality version so I had to repost it. This song is just so filthy. I have trap arms at my desk just listening to it.

Hope this gets your Big Week in NYC off to a bangin’ start. If you haven't checked out our jam packed party schedule that is essentially a rage marathon straight into 2015, check it out and if you'll be out at any of the same shows we're at, hit me up on twitter @hiephotography so we can meet up!

Stay Bad,

Harrison E
