BAD Weekend Playlist #009: Aylen, Zeds Dead, SNBRN, Jai Wolf, Excision, Elephante

#123JumpJan ain't over yet, Bad Kids!

This playlist comes straight off my buzz from seeing A-Trak at SiriusXM's Electric Aquarium event earlier this week with our VIPs and in anticipation of seeing Knife Party at Webster Hall tonight with our friends from ThisSongSlaps. My trap arms are out and ready for some bass! Whatever kind of music you like, this playlist has something for everyone to get their weekends started right - lots of sets/mixes, so in total you kids have six hours and 23 minutes of beats.

Follow us on Soundcloud @badkidscollective to keep up with everything we're listening to and let us know if you think there's an artist or track we're missing! There's so much music to hear and we only have so many ears to listen...

Montell Jordan - Get It On Tonite (Aylen Remix)

Our boy Aylen took this classic Montell Jordan hit and weaved his signature style into the soulful beats of this late-90’s throwback. Trust, this will be an instant favorite.

Zeds Dead - Dead of Winter Mix

Some of the BKC crew was lucky enough to see Zeds Dead at Webster Hall a few months back and I have had the privilege to see them a few times over the years and they don’t ever disappoint. They released this mix yesterday to their 4.5 million soundcloud followers and it's an hour and twelve minutes of music that jumps across genres from the Bauuer remix of You & Me by Disclosure to their new collab with Oliver Heldens that I posted a couple weeks back.

Clean Bandit - Real Love (The Chainsmokers Remix)

I’ll be the first to admit I love the music that Clean Bandit has been putting out recently. The Chainsmokers take their most recent hit and slow it down a little bit and add some deep house elements, horns, and some other crazy shit in their remix that they dropped a few days ago.

A-Trak - Diplo & Friends January 2015 Mix

I had the privilege of being in the booth with A-Trak a few months ago while shooting an event at Pacha and let me tell you, this guy knows how to fucking DJ. He is the opposite of the "push play" DJ. Dude actually mixes, scratches and manages to effectively spin songs from different genres and with different BPMs into all of his sets. From Deep House to Trap, he’s an animal. As I mentioned, a big group of our VIPs got to see him spin a set for SiriusXM’s Electric Area (which was incredible, btw) and he did an hour long Diplo & Friends mix last week featuring 'Rafiki' by none other than our boy Aylen, who has the first track on this playlist.

Same K -  For You (Above & Beyond Edit)

Arty found this Russian guy named Same K and referred Above & Beyond to him. This is his song, slightly edited by Above & Beyond, but it sounds like it could have been right off of one of their records. We’ve been waiting since EDC to find out what this track was.

Sam Smith - Money On My Mind (MK Remix)

Not a brand new track, but MK is another artist that I have had the chance to photograph over the past few months and he was one of the cooler/more laid back DJ’s I have met. He put together a nice remix of this Sam Smith track, and I love pretty much anything that Sam Smith.

Excision & Pegboard Nerds - Bring The Madness

I know I am a little bit all over with my genre selection in this playlist, but I like to try and get a little something for everyone. This is a pretty heavy dubstep song (classic Excision) and with the vocals it’s almost a cross of old school heavy metal and EDM.

SNBRN - Raindrops

SNBRN is actually good friends with one of my buddies from LA and I had the chance to meet him at Pacha when he played with The Chainsmokers, Kasum and AYO ALEX the night after Thanksgiving. Awesome dude who is doing big things out on the west coast, and this is his new original which I am really digging at the moment.

Mocki - Weekend (Jai Wolf Remix)

Jai Wolf is blowing up, and with chill as fuck remixes like this it’s no surprise. He is heading out to tour with our boy Gazzo in the coming months and I am hoping I get a chance to see them in person!

Elephante - Back To Stool 2014

I stumbled across this mix earlier this week and really enjoyed it. Very upbeat, happy mix with a lot of top hits from 2014 as well as some of Elephante’s dope remixes. This guy is up and coming and plays some awesome sets!

And there you have it Bad Kids - your tunes for the weekend. The BKC crew will be upstairs at Webster Hall tonight for Knife Party, Cash Cash and Pierce Fulton. If you want to meet us out, hit me up on Twitter @hiephotography.

Stay Bad,
